Good morning and hello 2016!  Hopefully your NYE and NYD were both wonderful.  I'm looking forward to a great year full of gorgeous nail polish and races and soccer and family time.  I am finishing up my vacation in Europe and it's a take-it-easy day as we need to pack it up and do any last minute sightseeing and shopping.  But as KBShimmer released her Birthstone Collection yesterday I really wanted to stay on track and share my post as soon as possible.  Now if this blingy and shiny metallic flakie collection is any indication of what's in store for the nail polish year you can paint me excited!  This collection is super fun!  Plus who doesn't like a good birthstone/zodiac collection?  What's even more exciting is that KBShimmer is giving away 12 birthstone jewelry pieces from JewelryTV!  Please go to this KBShimmer POST for more information on how to enter.  So the Birthstone Collection is available now and you can pick up your favorites for $8.75 each or $100 for the entire 12 piece collection.  You ready to see some swatches?  Then let's go!

Up first is Diamond.  I had to pick this one because April is my birth month, and hello, what girl (or guy) doesn't love a sparkly diamond!  This is a silver polish packed with metallic flakes and holo dust.  Bling!  formula and application were both great.  I used 2 coats for full coverage and finished with a layer of topcoat.

Pink Tourmaline is the October birthstone.  This is a vibrant pink full of metallic flakies and holo dust.  This is a sure bet for any pink lover.  Again, fabulous formula and application.  I only needed 2 coats for full coverage.  1 layer of topcoat.

Citrine is the November birthstone.  It's a golden yellow polish full of metallic flakes and holo dust.  I know this shade probably won't get much love but I adore it!  Yellow is my jam!  I found Citrine to be right, happy and cheerful.  Of course the shiny bling helped out.  Perfect formula, perfect application.  2 coats and a layer of topcoat.

I picked a few darker shades too because well, I have a weakness for them.  I'll start by saying the darker shades do not pack as much metallic-bling punch but they are still gorgeous.  This is Garnet, the birthstone for January.  It's a blackened red with metallic flakies and holo dust.  Gorgeous color, perfect formula and application.  I used 2 coats of Garnet, 1 layer of topcoat.

Sapphire is the birthstone for September babies.  It's a stunning navy blue shade full of metallic flakies and holo shimmer.  Ya know, all that hype over the re-release of Essie Stary Stary Night?  Skip it, it's not even close to the original.  Get this instead - trust me!  Awesome formula, great application.  2 coats of Sapphire and a layer of topcoat.

And my last Birthstone to share is Black Pearl for those June babies.  Yup, I couldn't pass on on this dusty black polish full of metallic flakies and holo dust.  This one does pull a bit green but I think it's gorgeous.  I found the formula and application on par with all the others - quite amazing.  2 coats for full coverage.  Finished up with a layer of topcoat.
