Pahlish Cauldron Pool

Good evening!  I'm hanging at home in the air conditioning recovering from the intense heat of the sun and all the sriracha food I ate today at the Sriracha Festival.  Something else that makes me feel cool is looking at this gorgeous refreshing pool blue polish from Pahlish!  I wanted to share this one because I recently noticed Shannon added to the discontinued list so you can pick it up right now for only $7.50!!  What a bargain!  But if you love it you'd better hurry before it's gone!

Cauldron Pool is a "bright turquoise creme with soft blue flake shimmer and a mix of metallic and holographic violet and teal glitters."  This shade of blue really makes me feel like I took a dip in sparkling pool.  I love the light handed addition of the glitters.  The formula was creamy and opaque and applied smoothly.  I used 2 coats of Cauldron Pool and 1 layer of topcoat.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Bicicletta

Good morning and happy start to a 3 day weekend!  Well hopefully you have a 3 day weekend.  I'm slightly bummed because I wanted to head out to the Reno Rib Cook Off but it just didn't happen this year.  Oh well, we can make ribs here and drink beer in the backyard.  But I thought I'd toss up a quick post and share this gorgeous, demure pink polish from Rescue Beauty Lounge.  I picked this up during the pre-order and it doesn't look like the Italian Summer collection is available just yet, but keep your eyes peeled because the entire collection is pretty amazing.  I'll have pictures of Oliveta and Motorini to share soon.  The Italian Summer collection will be $20 each when it is available.

Bicicletta was inspired by an image Ji saw during a trip to Sorrento.  She saw a "dark-haired little girl in a bikini riding a bike with training wheels.  The bike was pale pink and it sparkled and twinkled in the sun, the matching streamers flying."  I can completely picture this adorable little bike, as much as I can picture my own half Italian, dark haired daughter riding it.  Bicicletta is a perfect little girl shade of pink but done in a grown up girl way.  It's full of teeny tiny, shimmery micro glitters in pink and silver shades.  The formula and application were both great, no issues to bring up.  I used 3 coats of Bicicletta for full coverage and 1 layer of topcoat.

Chaos & Crocodiles Secret Agent: Interrogation and Operation Vegas

Good afternoon!  Are you a secret agent?  Well I am!  A Chaos & Crocodiles Secret Agent that is.  Heehee!  I had the good fortune to meet Sarey, the creator of Chaos & Crocodiles while in Las Vegas and she was awesome.  Another indie maker that is truly passionate about her brand and looking to continually grow and add to the shop.  My hope is that she takes the success of the amazing Secret Agent collection and either adds to it or comes up with an entirely new holo line using the same formula because WOWZA the 2 polishes I am sharing now are fantastic!  I'm sharing these today because Sarey is having a PRE-ORDER tomorrow Saturday 8/30/14 from 12-1pm EDT.  The Secret Agent collection, the Vegas exclusive Operation Vegas and many more will be available.  Can I also tell you that the adorable little mascot crocodile - Chaos, is hand drawn by Sarey, as well as all his little friends that you see on the site.  How cute is that?!  So let's look at these amazing holos and you can start thinking about what you want to order on Saturday.

Up first I have Interrogation.  Interrogation is a "coral-leaning orange linear holographic."  This is one super duper linear holo!  I completely love everything about it.  I found the formula creamy and smooth and the application was perfection.  I used 2 coats of Interrogation and no topcoat for my pictures.  This baby has mega holo-y-ness even in indoor lighting!

And this vampy beauty is the Vegas exclusive, Operation Vegas.  This is kind of a hybrid color - shows up a little reddish, a little plummy, a little purple, a little blackened.  It actually looks different on all the bloggers I've seen wear it.  Operation Vegas has a very strong holo flame and it's full of winning.  I simply adore this polish and want to wear it all the time, seriously think about how pretty it is on a daily basis.   Much like Interrogation, the formula was creamy and smooth, while the application was flawless.  I used 2 coats of Operation Vegas and no topcoat.  *Operation Vegas is an LE and will likely be available in limited supply during the Saturday restock.

Pirates of the Caribbean Inspired Duo from Sweet Heart Polish & Ellagee

"Psst!  Avast there!  It be too late to alter course, mateys...and there be plundering pirates lurking in every cove, waitin' to board.  Sit closer together, and keep your ruddy hands inboard.  That be the best way to repel boarders.  And mark well me words, mateys...dead men tell no tales!"  If your a buff you know those are the wise words of the talking Jolly Roger before you go down the first plummet on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland.  It's my favorite ride.  My family's favorite ride.  The one we always hit up first and last.  I love that Cassandra (Sweet Heart Polish) and Laura (Ellagee) collaborated to make this amazing LE duo inspired by the ride.  When I first saw these polishes I immediately thought of the cavern full of gold, jewels and treasure.  As a kid I always wanted to reach over and pocket some - a lot of good plastic booty would do me.  Well now I can have that same gold and sparkle on my nails so color me happy.  The Pirate of the Caribbean duo launches Sunday 8/31 at Noon PDT in both shops!  The duo is $22.  Now let's look at pictures!

Up first I have Drink Up Me Hearties Yo Ho! from Ellagee.  I am loving this wearable and flattering gold polish!  It's a perfectly soft shade that's packed with golden shimmer and micro flakes.  It's very reminiscent of sparkly, valuable things that make pirates go all grabby hands.  The formula is a little sheer but it builds up nicely in 3 coats.  Application was perfect - nothing to bring up.  I used 3 coats of Drink Up Me Hearties Yo Ho! and 1 layer of topcoat.

Next up is Sweet Heart Polish Inflame & Ignite.  This beauty is packed full of gold, red, and holo micro glitters.  Inspired by the end of the ride where you slowly travel under a building/city that has been ravaged and set on fire.  Burning embers and fire crackling are the sights and sounds of this section.  You can use this polish on it's own or as a topper over other colors.  The color combination is actually very Autumn so you can bet I'll be grabbing for this over the next couple months!  The formula of Inflame & Ignite was great.  Plenty of glitter came out and it spread perfectly on my nails.  I used 3 coats of Inflame & Ignite for full coverage and 1 layer of topcoat.

I also paired the 2 polishes together!  I used Drink Up Me Hearties Yo Ho! as a base with Inflame & Ignite on top.  These compliment each other so perfectly.  I used 3 coats of Drink Up Me Hearties Yo Ho!, 1 coat of Inflame & Ignite and 1 layer of topcoat.

If you order the duo you get this awesome doubloon key chain!  What an fantastic little extra that just shows how much thought Laura and Cassandra put into creating this duo.

And just because I want to...here's a picture of everyone's favorite wacky yet genius pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow.  Did I ever tell you I actually got to meet Johnny Depp at Disneyland?  Yup I did and he was personable and funny and talked to my oldest son in his Jack Sparrow voice.  I'm a fan for life.

China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy

Good morning!  Sorry for being all over the place with my nail length these days.  I have quite a few posts ready to go with longer nails, then I had a break so I had to file them all down to nubs.  So just bare with me while I use up the drafts I have ready while switching to my nubs for posts that need to go up immediately.  Let's talk neon coral.  Let's talk China Glaze.  Let's talk Flip Flop Fantasy - one of China Glazes most popular summer/neon shades ever!  I played a little game at the American International Industries booth at ComsoProf North America and was given a bottle of Flip Flop Fantasy as a gift!  How cool is that?  I did a huge post featuring AII and all the upcoming China Glaze collections, if you missed it you can see it HERE.  But now let's talk neon (we better be quick because summer is just about over!)!

*PRESS SAMPLE*

Flip Flop Fantasy is truly the ultimate summer neon color.  It's somewhere between a coral and a peach shade.  This particular color makes me look uber tan (even though I already am tan it actually made me look even tanner).  Like other neon cremes, this was a bit chalky upon application.  It dries quickly and uneven.  Thankfully it builds up nicely and I only needed 3 coats of Flip Flop Fantasy for full, even coverage.  Flip Flop Fantasy dries to a matte finish and needs top coat to be shiny.

I wanted to bling it up a bit so I used a dry brush and dipped it into a pot of loose silver holo micro glitters.  I then dabbed the glitters onto the wet polish up near my cuticles and brought a few stray glitters downward.  I used 1 layer of topcoat to keep the glitters in place and to gloss up Flip Flop Fantasy.
