Mentality Polish Rascal

It's morning time again and that means another post for you to enjoy!!  I'm moving back to the US indie brands today and I am excited to feature a brand I haven't tried yet!  Mentality Polish is a brand that has been around for about a year now and Hillary has put out some really amazing collections!  With mattes, holos, stampers, duochromes and more there is something for everyone!  Aside from having a large range the polish is priced at a reasonable price with most sitting around $7 - $8.  You can purchase Mentality from the online store, Etsy (there is a special through the end of September, spend $30 and get 20% off with code MENTALITY at checkout).  You can also follow Mentality on Facebook and Instagram (mentalitynailpolish) to keep up on news and promotions!

This is Rascal.  Rascal is part of the mate collection and is described as "a black matte with very subtle shimmer."  The shimmer is actually quite noticeable and pretty!  It actually reminds me of chalkboards - so if you were looking for a polish to do chalkboard nails with this would be a perfect base!  Rascal had nice creamy formula that was easy to work with.  I'd suggest thin coats so you can keep the layers level.  Depending on your nails you will need 2-3 coats of polish.  I used 2 coats and no topcoat.

I wanted to jazz Rascal up a bit so I did a waterfall mani!  I'm so pleased with how it came out!  I used Lalya Marshmallow, Urban Outfitters Silver Holo and Jordana Black Sparkle in alternating vertical lines.  This trio of sparkly silvers really pop over the black matte!  I did not use topcoat.

Celestial Cosmetics: You're W-Earth It, Pink Posy & Celestial Night

Good morning again lovely readers!  I'm on a roll with another post!  I am featuring another Australian indie brand today and it's another beautiful brand!  Celestial Cosmetics is a handmade, 3-free brand that will be expanding to include other cosmetics in the near future.  This is another brand that would be near impossible to get if it weren't for amazing US stockist!  Celestial will be available at Color4Nails very shortly and will be $11.00 for each 12 ml bottle.  So keep an eye on the Color4Nails shop (you can sign up for email alerts), Facebook page and Instagram (color4nails) for updates on stock and brands that Sisi has available.  And just in case you want to see the entire stock of Celestial Cosmetics here is the shop link (but this brand only ships to Australia so your best bet is Color4Nails).

The first Celestial I have to share is You're So W-Earth it.  It's a very pretty light blue creme based polish with blue, green and white glitters inside.  It went on easily enough.  The first coat was a tad streaky but the second coat leveled out perfectly.  Plenty of glitter came out with each brush dip.  I used 2 coats for full coverage.  The glitter did cause it to look gritty but a good layer of topcoat and my nails were shiny and perfectly smooth to the touch.

Pink Posy is my favorite of the bunch - no surprise here since you KNOW how much I love holos.  I actually don't have a pink that looks like this so I was pretty happy to play with this one.  Pink Posy is described by the maker simply as a "bright pink holographic polish."  If you are looking for something feminine, delicate, but still noticeable then Pink Posy is for you!  I used 2 coats for full coverage, but I suspect that if you had longer nails you would need 3 because it is slightly sheer.  The formula was like butter - creamy and smooth.  1 layer of topcoat and the holo was not effected.

And finally I have Celestial Night.  This beautiful polish is a dark metallic-y plum purple with silvery shimmer and silver holo glitters.  It's very lovely in the sunshine and the silver holo really sparkles through!  The first coat went on slightly sheer so I used 2 coats for full coverage.  The formula was nice and easy to apply with no problems to report.  I finished it off with 1 layer of topcoat to help shine things up!

Glam Polish: Margaritaville & Fairy Princess Gru!

Good morning lovely readers!  Did you miss me?  I took a little hiatus but I'm back and have some gorgeous Australian indies to share with you!  Hopefully looking at pretty polish will make up for my posting absence.  I'm going to start with an indie brand that is gaining new fans by the speed of sound!  I personally started to notice Glam Polish on Instagram.  I can't remember which account I was posted a picture but I know I was drooling all over the glitter polishes I saw.  And then I shed a tear or two when I realized it was an international brand because those are so hard to get unless you find a swap buddy or find a US stockist and there wasn't one….UNTIL NOW!!  Color4Nails recently began carrying Glam Polish and currently has stock so head over to the website to do some shopping!  They are $12.50 for a 12ml sized bottle (not a mini, but not the standard US size).  You can also follow Color4Nails on Facebook for promotions, restock info and upcoming lines they will carry.  Color4Nails is also on Instagram (color4nails) and you can enjoy looking at pictures of beautiful nail polish gracing many popular bloggers nails.  You can also check out the Glam Polish shop to see all the polishes they make (but your best bet is to buy through Color4Nails if you don't live in Australia).

Up first I have Margaritaville.  Yup, I definitely get the Jimmy Buffet song stuck in my head and I sang it all day when I wore this polish.  But that's ok, at least I truly like the song and don't tire of it.  Margaritaville is a hard color to describe.  I'd say it's somewhere between light salmon and a pastel neon peach-coral.  There are bright purple, hot pink and yellow-green glitters to add some fun color.  It's a milky type base and the application on it was nice and easy to use.  The glitters came out easily and laid flat on my nails.  The hot pink glitters didn't come out to play much, but if you look at the bottle those are sparse to begin with so I didn't expect them to be overly abundant on my nails.  I used 3 coats of Margaritaville and 1 layer of topcoat.

This beautiful glitter polish is Fiary Pricess Gru!  You're a Despicable Me fan and you know it!  I have 3 kids and they love the movies so I have seen both more than any adult would care to admit.  But I still  love the movies, they are petty funny!  Fairy Princess Gru is a clear based polish full of hot pink, light pink and pale yellow glitters in different shapes and sizes.  There is a nice amount of holo micro glitter to add a sparkly princess effect!  Can I just say that this combination of glitter is gorgeous!!  I love it!  I want to try it over every possible color!  The formula was great - I got a good dose of glitter with each brush dip with no fishing required.  The application was also great.  I used 2 coats of Fairy Princess Gru over 2 coats of Orly Green Apple (dusty apple green creme) and 2 coats of Bettina Daydream (lilac creme).  I think FPG looks fabulous over both colors!  I finished it off with 1 layer of topcoat.

Lilypad Lacquer True Blood

Good morning deal readers!  I've been on a bit of a holo kick lately, have you noticed?  I just can't get enough of those gorgeous rainbows!  I feel like I've been buying them up with wild abandon and guess what...I'm not even looking back to see my path of destruction.  How do you feel about holos?  They definitely rank as my favorite type of nail polish with glitter bombs as a close second place.  Textures have stolen my heart as well, but they sit happily at 3rd place.  But this post features a holo.  A holo unlike any that I have, in a color that so gorgeous I cried a little when I took it off.  So let's talk a about Lilypad Lacquers.  This is another brand that comes from Australia...there must be something in the water over there because it seems all the Aussie brands really rock!  Lilypad Lacquers is available on Etsy if you are an Aussie native, which I'm not (I'm sharing that page because it shows the entire polish line at Lilypad - happy browsing).  You will be happy to know that Llarowe carries the brand.   I snagged this baby and now I want more!  Lilypad is on Facebook and Instagram (lilypadlacquer).

True Blood.  It comes from the Colour My World collection and the entire collection is pretty stunning!  You should check it out.  But I want to share my feelings about True Blood.  I'm in love.  True Blood is gorgeous.  It's described by the maker as an "intense deep purpley red/burgundy holographic nail lacquer."  I'd say that's a spot on description.    What I think I love most about this polish is that (of course) it has a super noticeable holo effect and the holo also seems to be full of sparkly granules!  Almost like it's a linear and scattered holo at the same time!  It reminds me of the Mish Mash Ozotics in a way, but with a more saturated color payoff.  I used 2 coats for complete coverage.  The formula and application were both flawless.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat and it didn't effect the holo whatsoever.
